ConstructionThis informal pond was constructed with the usual effort and care by Frogheath. The initial skill is in the digger work, creating the shape and very importantly, slopes that will not collapse. A layer of specially woven fabric (see white) is the first protective layer to be laid down. Then a layer of screened sand is laid over that and finally a bonded butyl liner. The soil is then back filled over the point where it meets ground level so that when the water fills, absolutely no artificial materials can be seen ( Unforgivable!) This process ensures long term success.
